Τα Films From The South γιορτάζουν την πρώτη τους παρουσίαση σε ένα τετραήμερο φεστιβάλ με Third Cinema προβολές από το διεθνή κινηματογράφο.
Οι ταινίες που επιλέχθηκαν προβάλλουν εναλλακτικές αφηγήσεις έξω από τις κυριαρχούσες, σπάζοντας τις δομές σε διατομικές κατανοήσεις ανάμεσα σε τάξη, φυλή, φύλο και θρησκεία.
Τα Third Cinemas ενθαρρύνουν νέες ιδέες που δεν αποτελούν μέρος της αποικιακής εμπειρίας. Χρησιμοποιώντας άμεση, κάποιες φορές αβέβαιη τεχνολογία για να δώσουν φωνή σε όσους δεν μπορούν να εκφράσουν το δικό τους όραμα, διερωτώμενοι για το οπτικό καθεστώς από τη δύση.
Κατανοώντας το νότο σαν ένα αντιστάθμισμα στο νεοαποικισμό, νεοφασισμό, κοινωνικό αποκλεισμό και την περιθωριοποίηση.
Τα Films from the South θα προβάλλονται στο θέατρο του ΦΙΞ in Art στη Θεσσαλονίκη στις 10, 17, 24 και 31 του Οκτώβρη στις 20:00 το βράδυ.
Το φεστιβάλ έχει ελεύθερη είσοδο και είναι προσβάσιμο σε άτομα ειδικές ικανότητες.

FILMS FROM THE SOUTH
ABOUT:
Films from the South celebrates its first edition with four days of third cinema international films screenings. The selected ones presented alternatives narratives outside the dominant ones, breaking the binary structures to intersectional understandings between class, race, gender and religion.
The third cinema brings decolonized transformative perspectives. Using the immediate, sometimes precarious, technology to bring voice to those who can’t express their own vision, questioning the visual regime from the west.
Understanding south as a counterpoint to neocolonialism, neofascism, social exclusion and marginalization.
Films from the South will be screening in the theatre of ΦΙΞ in art, Thessaloniki, on the 10th, 17th, 24th and 31th of october at 20.00h.
The festival has free admission and it’s accessible for people in wheelchairs.
